Learn-to-Swim Program

About the Program


The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression, and is designed to give students a positive learning experience.

Six levels of the Learn-to-Swim program instruction help swimmers of all ages and varying abilities develop their swimming and water safety skills:
  • Otters: Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills
  • Seals: Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills
  • Whales: Level 3 - Stroke Development
  • Advanced Beginner: Level 4 - Stroke Improvement
  • Intermediates: Level 5 - Stroke Refinement
  • Swimmers: Level 6 - Swimming and Skill Proficiency

Swim Lesson Schedule - 2016


Schedule


  • Date: Monday through Thursday (Fridays are used as make-up days when necessary)
  • Fee: $20 per youth swim lesson
  • Enrollment: 4 minimum / 10 maximum per session

Sessions


  • Session A: June 13-30
  • Session B: July 5 - 21
  • Session C: July 25 - August 11

Swim Lesson Times


  • 9:00 am - 9:45 am: Otters, Seals, Whales, and Advanced Beginners
  • 10:00 am - 10:45 am: Otters, Seals, Whales, Advanced Beginners, Intermediates, and Swimmers

  • 11:00 am - 11:45 am: Otters, Seals, Whales, Advanced Beginners, Intermediates, and Swimmers
  • 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm: Seals, Whales, Advanced Beginners, and Intermediates
    • 7:00 levels available only during Sessions A and C
