Registration for all Winter/Spring Classes will begin Monday, January 7, 2019. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. EXTENDED WEAVING FALL/WINTER


For weaving students who were enrolled in 2018 Fall/Winter classes and need extra time to complete their projects, or for any student who wants a head start for the Winter/Spring weaving classes. Ages 18 and up.

LOOM WEAVING


The ARCC now offers a variety of classes to teach how to weave on harness looms. Choose the right class based on your weaving ability! Classes run concurrently, afternoon or evening sessions. Ages 18 and up.


BEGINNING WEAVING


This class will cover several aspects of weaving and setting up a loom, from warp calculations to fully dressing it for weaving. Each student will have a loom to set up and work on. Students will make a small hand towel in plain weave. This can also be used as a small table runner or placemat as well. A supply fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class. Ages 18 and up. ADVANCED BEGINNING WEAVING


This class is a continuation of Beginning Weaving. Students will dress their loom as in beginning weaving and weave a sampler of basic twill weave structures and a small hand towel or table runner of their choice. A supply fee of $20.00 - $25.00, pending projects selected, will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class. Ages 18 and up.

WEAVING - INDIVIDUAL STUDY


This class will use Pattie Graver’s book, “Next Steps in Weaving” to study one of the following weave structures - Over Shot, Summer Winter, Shadow Weave or Lace. Students will weave samples that can be made into mug rugs or coasters, then can continue on to a bigger project in future classes of “Individual Study”. A supply fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. The book may also be purchased from the instructor. Pre requisite: Beginning Weaving or can fully dress a loom. Ages 18 and up.

OPEN WEAVING STUDIO


The weaving studio will be open during off class times for your own personal project on one of the ARCC’s looms. Fees include of use of a loom not being used for classes and any of the ARCC’s weaving equipment in the studio. The weaving studio will be closed to open studio participants when ARCC classes are scheduled and on the following dates: January 21, February 18 and April 20. Open weaving studio participants MUST schedule an appointment for an initial orientation prior to working in the studio. Participants will also have to provide their own supplies which may include yarn, scissors, and any other supplies necessary to complete their project. No instruction will be available during open studio time.

ABERDEEN QUILT GUILDS


The Aberdeen Quilt Guild meets the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the ARCC. The Candlelight Quilt Guild meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to anyone interested in quilting. Local quilters meet to share old and new techniques in cutting, piecing, color  selections, and quilting by hand or machine. Demonstrations held monthly.
