Can I discharge fireworks in town?

Discharge of Fireworks is PROHIBITED by City Ordinance.  Discharge of Fireworks is also PROHIBITED within one mile of and within one mile of any City Property outside of the Corporate City Limits.


Can I sell fireworks in town?

The sale of fireworks is PROHIBITED by City Ordinance. Retail sales of fireworks are restricted to sites located one-mile beyond the Corporate City Limits. Retail sales by state law can only occur to residents between the last full week of June preceding the Fourth of July to July Fourth.


Can I use a fire pit or chimnea-type appliance within the city limits?

Not strictly prohibited but Fire Code requires extinguishment or cessation of use if a complaint is received. Currently no residential use burn permit is required. City Ordinance prohibits the burning of trash and rubbish, unless within an interior, approved incinerator.


Can I place an aboveground tank, containing flammable liquids, for dispensing into motor vehicles within the city limits?

PROHIBITED by City Ordinance and the Fire Code unless the tank is a concrete, vaulted, and buried underground.
