Lynn Lander has 31 years of local government experience, 19 years of which have been spent as a city administrator and nine years as a city department head. Lynn’s management career has spanned over four different cities. He served as city administrator in Hermantown, Minnesota, city finance / personnel director in Mandan, North Dakota, and city finance director in Ipswich, South Dakota. These cities have provided a diverse range of experiences.
Along with his recent service with the City of Aberdeen, his career has included working in a metro suburb environment adjacent to Duluth, Minnesota, and for a city with a large petroleum industrial and railroad base and a smaller farm and ranch community.
He has managed or assisted with management of cities through boom and bust periods and managed several significant public improvement projects and also worked with the private sector to expand positive residential and commercial development.
Lynn is a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
