  18. Read for the Record Day

    Jumpstart’s Read for the Record brings together millions of people each year in classrooms, libraries, community centers, and homes across the US. This annual campaign was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for EVERY child, so that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten prepared to succeed. Read for the Record is being held this year on October 25th and this year’s book is Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell. We will be reading the book during our Snuggle Up with Stories baby program at 9:30AM,1:30PM and a special reading for all ages at 4:00PM. We can’t wait to read with you!

    Calling all people who love to talk about food-home cooks and self-proclaimed foodies of all experience levels! The Public Library has started a Cooking Club. This unique club will provide you with the outlet to share this love with people who have the exact same passion. No more need to talk endlessly about the intricacies of food to a bewildered spouse or family member; use the club to get this out of your system! Date: 4th Thursday of the month. Time: 6:00PM- 8:00PM Fee: $8 per person (Must be paid in advance to cover cost of purchasing the ingredients) Registration: Required. During each session participants make the entire meal and have time to relax and enjoy it while discussing the recipes and deciding on the next theme. Registration is required due to its 20 person limitation and there is a $8 per person fee to cover the cost of the food. First come, first serve basis.
