    Baby & Me Lapsit Birth to 18 months Thursdays at 9:00 AM January 21st thru April 14th. Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers and babies at the library. Using books, songs and rhymes, this program focuses on visual tracking, movement, colors and vocabulary which are all important developmental skills for reading. Baby & Me is designed to help babies learn and develop listening, language and motor skills while having fun. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap for this 20-30 minute program. *Older siblings are welcome to come along and enjoy games and activities in the adjoining room.

    Teen Xtreme! Grades 6-12 Thursdays 3:30-4:30PM February 4th thru March 10th Xtreme fun at the library. Every week teens will play different games, technology, activities, etc.

  3. Preschool Story Time

    February 13, 10:30 AM

    Story Time Ages: 3-5 years Tuesdays and Saturdays 10:30 AM January 19th thru April 16th Preschoolers will be introduced to the incredible world of language and books through stories, songs, activities and more! This program incorporates Early Literacy Components such as sounding out words, vocabulary, etc. Storytime generally lasts 45 minutes, and caregivers are expected to attend.

    Story Time Ages: 3-5 years Tuesdays and Saturdays 10:30 AM January 19th thru April 16th Preschoolers will be introduced to the incredible world of language and books through stories, songs, activities and more! This program incorporates Early Literacy Components such as sounding out words, vocabulary, etc. Storytime generally lasts 45 minutes, and caregivers are expected to attend.

  5. Afternoon Adventures

    February 16, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

    Afternoon Adventures Grades K-5 Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 PM February 2nd thru March 8th Get ready for an after school adventure! Kids in grades K-2 and 3-5 will explore a new topic each week in an active and fun environment. STEM components will be featured with activities, experiments and more!

  6. Trivia Tuesday

    February 16, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

    Do You Have The Answers?? Trivia Tuesday is a program in which teams compete against each other in answering questions from various topics. This family friendly event is formatted so that all ages will enjoy participating and will actually assist their older or younger team members with their unique knowledge of all things trivial. Teams Community members choose their own teams of 5 to 8 people, who can range from family members to coworkers to singles groups. Individuals may register for Trivia Tuesday and will be assigned a team before game-play. From working together on tough questions to joking with other teams, team members bond with each other and other teams to create a fun, stimulating environment filled with friendly competition. Everyone has fun at Trivia Night!

  7. Intro to Computers

    February 17, 1:00 PM - February 19, 3:00 PM @ Alexander Mitchell Public Library

    No previous computer knowledge is required. This 2 part class will consist of learning the very basic fundamentals of using a computer. Examples of what will be covered: using a mouse & keyboard, turning the computer on/off, etc. Laptops will be provided for use during class. Registration is required.

  10. Cooking Club

    February 18, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    Calling all people who love to talk about food-home cooks and self-proclaimed foodies of all experience levels! The Public Library has started a Cooking Club. This unique club will provide you with the outlet to share this love with people who have the exact same passion. No more need to talk endlessly about the intricacies of food to a bewildered spouse or family member; use the club to get this out of your system! Date: 3rd Thursday of the month Time: 6:00PM- 8:00PM Fee: $8 per person (Must be paid in advance to cover cost of purchasing the ingredients) Registration: Required. During each session participants make the entire meal and have time to relax and enjoy it while discussing the recipes and deciding on the next theme. Registration is required due to its 20 person limitation and there is a $8 per person fee to cover the cost of the food. First come, first serve basis. Registrations are not guaranteed until fee is received at the Public Library.

  12. Microsoft Word: Resumes

    February 22, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Alexander Mitchell Public Library

    Did you know you don't have to construct complicated documents like resumes from scratch? Microsoft Word has templates available for everything from resumes to newsletters. Save yourself time and effort by learning how to find and edit these templates. Students must have basic Word skills to attend this class. Registration is required.

  13. Windows: The Basics

    February 22, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Alexander Mitchell Public Library

    Learn the basics of navigating a PC with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10. Those registered for this class will need to know how to use a mouse & keyboard. Registration is required.

  14. Young @ Heart Book Club

    This book club is designed for people 50 years of age and over, and is co-sponsored by The Alexander Mitchell Public Library and the Aberdeen Senior Center. Books are selected by participants four months in advance. This program is free to the public. Books may be checked out at the Alexander Mitchell Public Library or participants may purchase their own copy.

    Look at some common job seeking websites and learn how to search and apply for jobs online. Registration is required.

  19. Photobooks from Shutterfly

    February 24, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Alexander Mitchell Public Library

    Learn how to make a lasting keepsake from your digital photos. Participants must have an e-mail address. Feel free to bring your digital photos or use our sample images. If you already have a Shutterfly account, you will need your Username and Password information. Registration is required.

    Those registered for this class will need to know how to use a mouse & keyboard, as well as have an e-mail address. This class will consist of learning the fundamentals of using Facebook. Laptops will be provided for use during class, but you can bring your own laptop or tablet if you prefer. Registration is required.
