The City of Aberdeen affirmatively recruits, hires, trains, and promotes the most qualified persons into all job levels without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, and disability.   To be considered for one of these positions,  an application for employment must be completed and returned to reach the City’s Human Resources Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on the closing date indicated. If you wish, you may include a detailed resume with your application but is not required.

Applications for Firefighter/Paramedic and Police Officer are accepted continuously for competitive examinations to establish eligibility lists for future hiring. 

The City of Aberdeen complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act. A pre-employment drug screen is required prior to employment in any posted City position and a confirmed positive drug screen will deny City employment for a period of six months.
