Children's Summer Library Programs

This year's Summer Reading Program theme is FIZZ BOOM READ and it's all about SCIENCE! We can't possibly cover every topic, but the story times, afternoon school age programming and even a book club will touch upon key science skills, such as observing, measuring, comparing, exploring and prediction, all while having fun! Family Story Time
Join us for stories, songs, rhymes, puppets and more! This session will focus on the youngest readers and pre-readers, but all ages are welcome and encouraged to come!

Dates:06/10-07/31
Times: Tuesdays, 10:30 AM & 6:30 PM     Thursdays, 10:30 & 5:30 PM (None week of                                                                                                                                  July 4th)

No registration required.

Mad Scientist Mondays Book Club

Join our young readers' book club!

We will meet every second Monday to discuss a book chosen by the group. It is a fun, relaxed atmosphere to share our favorite characters, our favorite parts from the book and even make our own Mad Scientist Costume!

Dates: 06/09, 06/23, 07/07 & 07/21
Time:
 Mondays, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Registration is currently full, but if you would like to be on the wait-list click here. Suggested age: 3rd grade through 5th.

Fizz! Boom! Programs!

It's Sense-ational!
Join us for some sense-ational stories! Using some of our senses we will guess mystery objects and play fun games. Each child will make their own optical illusion toy.

Dates: 06/10 & 06/12 (same both days)
Time:
 Tuesday & Thursday, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM 

No registration. Suggested age: K-5th grade

Fluid Fun
Join us for wonderfully wet tales and funny fluid experiments. We will make our own slime, watch a candy explosion and observe luscious, levels of layering liquid. Each child will make their own 
"lava lamp".

Dates: 06/24 & 06/26 (same both days)
Time:
 Tuesday & Thursday, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM 

No registration. Suggested age: 3rd-5th grade

Angle Adventures
Join us for mathematics made merry! Learn the use of angles in making paper airplanes and the importance of shapes with tangrams. There will be a paper airplane flying contest with prizes!

Dates: 07/08 & 07/10 (same both days)
Time:
 Tuesday & Thursday, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM 

No registration. Suggested age: K-5th grade

The Science of Books: Pop-ups and Scanimation
Join us for the sharing of some amazing pop-up books. Learn the science behind making them work. Make your own simple pop-up! Learn about scanimations and how they work.

Dates: 07/22 & 07/24 (same both days)
Time:
 Tuesday & Thursday, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM 


No registration. Suggested age: 3rd-5th Grade
