Dig into ReadingSummer 2013 Children's Library Programs

Dig Into READING
Earn prizes for reading or being read to for 20 minutes each day! No book reports or tests - just READ! Pick up your Dig into READING Punch Card at the library. One punch for each day you read: when you have 10 punches, turn in your  card and choose a prize!
Punch cards available May 21.
Maximum number of prizes per person is seven.
Ages: 3 years - Grade 5 (completed).
Dates: May 21 - July 31.


"Book Sprouts!"
Parents can help their little ones learn to love books, reading, and the library! Pick up a Reading Record at the library and complete the activities listed. Return the completed Reading Record to the library to receive a prize! Reading Records available May 21.
Ages: 18-36 months
Dates: May 21- July 31


Oh where, oh where has my little gnome gone...?

Search the city for our library gnome who will be visiting local businesses and attractions. New location and clue each week: find him, have your clue stamped, and return it to the library to be entered in a prize drawing.
Ages: 3 years - Grade 5 (completed). Possum
Dates: June 3 - July 27

Digging Up Stories
Join us as we dig into some great stories, songs, and projects.
No registration required.
Ages: 3-5 years with adult care giver
Dates: June 4 - July 23
Time: Tuesday 10am, 1:30pm, 6:30pm


AMPL Afternoons

Special programs for kids of all ages! No registration required. Adult supervision required for younger children, welcome for older children!
Time: Wednesday, 1:30-2:15pm
May 29: Landscape the Library
Learn about plants that grow well in our soil, then help beautify our library by planting seeds and flowers in our green space.
June 26: AMPL Puppet Show
Library puppeteers will entertain with classic and not-so-classic tales!
July 17: Mighty Machines
Construction equipment used by the City will be parked at the library!
SkunkFables & Fairytales
Enjoy stories, songs and crafts at the castle in Storybook Land. This activity is co-sponsored with the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department. No registration required. Everyone is welcome! (Cancelled in case of rain.)
