Learn about the six components of early literacy and how you can create a fun and effective learning environment at home. Find out how to help prepare your children for school and encourage a lifelong love of reading.

Fall Programs for Kids

NEW! Baby & Me Lapsit
Join us for our new program just for you and baby. Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers and babies at the library. We will share songs, books, rhymes and more all planned with babies in mind. Baby & Me is designed to help babies learn and develop listening, language and motor skills while having fun. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap for this 20-30 minute program. *Older siblings are welcome to come along and enjoy games and activities in the adjoining room.
No registration required.

Ages: Birth to 18 months
Date: Thursdays, October 8th - December 17th, 2015
No program on November 26th.
Time: 9:00 AM

Wee Read
Bring your little ones to share in stories, songs, sensory play and more! Topics change weekly and develop the 6 early learning skills in a fun and interactive environment. This is the perfect program for children too young to enjoy storytime, but not too young to have fun! Wee Read generally lasts 30 minutes, and caregivers are expected to attend.
No registration required.
Ages: 18 months - 3 years
Date: Wednesdays, October 7th - December 16th, 2015
No program on November 11th.
Time: 10:00 AM


Storytime
Preschoolers will be introduced to the incredible world of language and books through stories, songs, activities and more! Topics change weekly and help prepare your child for successful school experiences.
Storytime generally lasts 45 minutes, and caregivers are expected to attend.
No registration required.
Ages: 3-5 years
Date: Tuesdays and Saturdays, October 6th - December 15th, 2015
Time: 10:30 AM

Afternoon Adventures
Get ready for an after school adventure! Kids in grades K-2 and 3-5 will explore a new topic each week in an active and fun environment. STEM components will be featured with activities, experiments and more!
No registration required.
Grades: K-5
Date: Tuesdays, October 6th - November 10th, 2015
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 PM

Minecraft Monday Jr.
Bring a friend to hang out and play Minecraft at the library. Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis, and library accounts are available if you do not have one.
No registration required.
Grades: K-5
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 PM

International Games Day
Join us for the 8th annual celebration of gaming in libraries. All types of games for all ages will be featured throughout the day, including WiiU, Minecraft, board, card, and life-sized games.
