Registration for all Spring classes starts on Monday, January 5th at 8am. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. COMPLETING UNFINISHED
KNITTING PROJECTS – NEW!

We all have knitting projects started that we would
like to complete and here is an opportunity to get
back on track with that project. Bring your project,
pattern and supplies to class and receive help
with your knitting. In addition to navigating your
pattern and project, the instructor will provide
insight into general knitting terms, techniques and
how to correct knitting mistakes. Knitting projects
such as hats, scarves/shawls, socks and mittens
will be acceptable for this class. Ages 16 and up.

CRAFTY RUGS – NEW!
Learn how to make your own pattern, utilizing
yarn, new knit fabric or old t-shirt material to
upcycle, create a fashionable rug for any room in
your home. Ages 16 and up.

SOCK KNITTING – NEW!
Participants will knit, in the round, on double
pointed needles, a basic sock. The technique for
knitting a basic sock, in one color, sized for children,
women or men will be learned over the
course of the class. Tips and tricks will be learned
using knit and purl stitches to master one of oldest
knit accessories created by humans. Ages 14 and
up. Sock yarn and double pointed knitting needles
will be available to purchase at the first class meeting.

CONTINUOUS STRAND WEAVING – NEW!
This is a weaving technique that uses a simple loom
and one strand of yarn. A person does not have to
spend hours measuring, cutting, and threading yarn
on a loom before beginning to weave. No previous
fiber arts experience is needed. We will be making
our own looms, learning to weave and how to join
the woven squares to make scarves, vests, blankets
table runners shawls and more.

BEGINNERS HANDWOVEN
MUFFIN BASKET

Using natural reed, learn how to weave a 9" X 7"
X 3" muffin basket to serve muffins, bread, crackers,
or other items. No experience necessary.

DOODLE AND STITCH – NEW!!
We will use Inktense watercolor bricks and pencils
to paint on a fabric panel. Then we will freemotion
stitch to enhance the design as an extra
element using stitch as line. You can frame as is
or quilt it up to make a nice little wall hanging.
This is a wonderful project for all ages and with
so many possibilities. Beginner - Advanced sewers
will love this class. Ages 16 and up.

WEAVING A QUILT – NEW!
Using the continuous strand method of weaving,
and three different shaped looms, we will make
woven pieces that can be joined together in quilt
block patterns and combined to make blankets and
wall hangings. Ages 16 and up.

BASIC FELTING
Learn the ancient art of felting wool. You will
explore “wet” felt techniques, then learn a “dry”
felt technique used to build layered design over
another piece of felt. Students will have the opportunity
to make felt material and needle felt a
decorative appliqué onto the material. Supply fee
includes wool roving, yarn, felting needle and
foam. Ages 11 and up.

HANDWOVEN ROUND BASKET – NEW!
Using natural reed, learn how to weave a 5" X 7"
round basket with a woven handle. This basket
has radial stakes which radiate out from a central
point, like the spokes of a wheel in order to form
the round base of this basket. Participants must
have taken a beginners basket weaving class or
have previous basket making experience.
Ages 16 and up.

 Quilt Guild Sew Day
QUILT GUILDS
The Aberdeen Quilt Guild meets the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the ARCC. The Candlelight Quilt Guild meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to anyone interested in quilting. Local quilters meet to share old and new techniques in cutting, piecing, color selections, and quilting by hand or machine. Demonstrations held monthly. Please call 626-7081 for more information.
