Registration for all Fall Classes begins the Tuesday after Labor Day. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash. All classes are subject to 6% sales tax.  Please call the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center for more information at 626-7081.


BASIC WIREWORK
Learn about metals and wire characteristics, tools
and how to choose the right tools for you, tool care
and safety. Also learn how to make simple and
wrapped loops. A basic set of tools and practice
wire will be available if you don’t already have
your own, but bring your own beads in a variety
of colors and sizes, along with paper and a pencil.
Most people will leave with finished pieces, but the
main focus of this class is mastering the tools and
techniques. Ages 14 and up.

 Native American Style Beadwork
BEGINNING NATIVE AMERICAN
STYLE BEADWORK – NEW!

Learn beginning Native American beadwork by
making a stuffed pillow keyfob with a traditional
turtle design, or use your own design.
Ages 13 and up.

WRAPPED CABOCHONS
In this class we will work with square and halfround
wire to create a lovely and unique bezel and
bail for a cabochon (flat-backed oval stone or glass
with no hole). The square wire forms a smooth
surface that gives the look and feel of a professional
silver setting enclosing your stone. Basic Wirework
is a prerequisite for the class. Ages 14 and up.

SUSPENDED TREASURES
Capture small treasures or found objects (odd
shaped stones, beach glass, pottery shards, etc.)
in a unique and elegant setting. We will use two
different sizes of wire to free-form a custom frame
in which your treasure is suspended. The more
interesting the shape of the focal piece, the more
challenging it will be to form the right frame to
show it off, but also the more fun it is to meet the
challenge. Basic Wirework is a prerequisite for the
class. Ages 16 and up.

 Wire and Bead work
WIRE AND GEM MAGIC

Form wire into elegant findings upon which to
hang glittering crystals or gemstones to form
a lovely one-of-a-kind necklace with matching
chandelier earrings. In the process you will learn
a number of techniques including how to form
the wire and pound it to preserve the shape, select
beads or stones that complement the shapes you
create, and putting it all together into a matched
guaranteed to draw attention and complements.
Basic Wirework is a prerequisite for the class.
