Notifying Mortgage & Insurances Companies

Mortgage and insurance companies may need additional documentation, which can be obtained by downloading the floodplain map. If you do not have access to the internet, you can obtain a copy of the revised flood plain map for your area by visiting our office, located on the third floor of City Hall at 123 South Lincoln Street.

Recommend Keeping Your Flood Insurance

While your property may not be in a 100-year floodplain, this does not guarantee your property against flooding. FEMA recommends keeping flood insurance, possibly even at a preferred (reduced) risk rate.

The city recommends contacting your individual insurance provider to be better informed on your options regarding your flood insurance.
