The City Health Department is primarily concerned with the health safety of our community. A few of the responsibilities include the inspection of establishments seeking a liquor license, complaint-based inspections of food service establishments, and the inspection of buildings, homes, or other sites that could potentially be a health hazard to occupants or neighbors.

Flooding can be a major frustration to home and business owners alike. Depending on the magnitude of the flooding, the inundation of flood waters into your home can also quickly become a major health concern.

With flooding comes the risk of contamination through waterborne microorganisms. After the water has receded, the primary risk becomes the growth of mold.
