Capturing the History of the Railroad Era
The authentic train depot museum recaptures the excitement and history of the railroad era. The train depot which houses the museum was built in 1881 and originally served as the Chicago and Northwestern depot in Rudolph, South Dakota.
An Educational Resource
The train depot museum provides an attractive display depicting the railroad history of Aberdeen, Brown County, and South Dakota. The train depot museum also serves as an educational resource for the citizens of Aberdeen and its many visitors and will bring young and old alike in touch with an important part of history.
Admission is Free
Souvenirs items and train ride tickets are available in the Visitor Center Gift Shop. Admission is free. The museum is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm during the summer (from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend).
