Season


Practice for the Baseball season begins Monday, June 6, 2022 Games begin June 13, and the season runs for eight weeks.

Schedule


Leagues have games scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If games are not scheduled, practices are usually held. Game times are the same as practice times. Game / practice times are as follows:
  • 4th Grade: D Minor at 12:30 p.m.
  • 5th Grade: D Major at 2:00 p.m.
  • 6th Grade: C League at 3:30 p.m.
  • 7th Grade and Up: B League at 9:00 a.m.
Game schedules will be updated the first week of practice.

Eligibility


Participants must be entering the fourth grade in the Fall of 2022 to begin the program. Those who turn 15 years of age on or before May 1, 2022, will not be allowed to participate in the B League baseball program, but are encouraged to try out for Teeners or Smitties Legion Baseball.

Equipment


All equipment is provided except for personal items (i.e., gloves, caps, and shoes). Players may not wear steel cleats. Rubber-soled turf shoes are allowed. Every player will be issued a uniform that must be returned at the end of the season.

Petition to Move a Level Up
The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department has developed a petition process whereby a youth, with parental consent, may request to move up one level in the baseball / softball program. Petition applications for moving up may be picked up at the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry office at 225 Third Avenue SE.

The deadline for submitting requests is Wednesday, April 27 if you plan to register on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 (Registration Kick Off Day). Otherwise, the last day for submitting requests is Friday, May 6, 2022. Youth who will be in third grade Peewee League may also petition up to the baseball / softball program.

Fees


There is a $40.00 fee for baseball to be paid at the time of registration. A $3.00 late fee will be added after May 24. Receive a 20% discount by registering on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 beginning at 7:00 am by walk in, online or phone 605-626-7015.

Baseball Uniform Distribution


Youth baseball players are instructed to stop in to the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center, located at 225 Third Avenue SE, during the designated time, and receive their baseball uniforms.

Wednesday, June 8
  • 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Open (any player)
Thursday, June 9
  • 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Open (any player)
