1. What types of dance classes are offered?

The Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center Dance Program offers a variety of classes in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, rhythmic gymnastics, hip hop, clogging,and broadway.

2. Are there required classes?

Students of the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center dance program are encouraged but not required to take ballet in addition to other dance classes. They may sign up for any dance discipline that interests them.

3. How are dance classes billed?

Dance classes have an annual tuition fee that is paid in nine monthly installments. Classes that are not recital-bound are paid in eight monthly installments. Payments are due by the 10th of the month, or at the time of registration.

4. How can I withdraw from a dance class?

You may withdraw from any or all classes at any time. Household credit and refunds will only be given for months with zero attendance.

5. Do classes have an attendance policy?

Any student who does not attend class for four consecutive weeks without giving notification will be dismissed from the program. The household will receive a cancellation notice in the mail. Re-registration may be permitted on a space-available basis.

6. Will I be required to purchase costumes for the recital?

No, one of the unique aspects of the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center dance program is that we rent costumes each year to students to use for a minimal fee. Students will receive a complete costume (you supply the shoes and tights) the week before recital, and are asked to return them on the last night of the performances.

7. Do the dance classes have a dress code?

Attire requirements differ depending on the class.
