Remove and throw away lids, then rinse all plastic bottles, steel and aluminum cans, and place directly in your blue recycling bin. These materials do not need to be kept separate. They are sorted during collection. All papers can be placed in paper sacks and positioned so the material will not blow out. Put the blue bin curbside on your scheduled trash pick-up day by 7:00 am. Recyclables will not be picked up in the alleys.
Fill your bin and put excess recycling in labeled boxes or a labeled container of your choosing, behind your bin. Make sure your blue bin is easy to see from both directions on your street. The collection crews know you have recycling to pick up when they see your blue bin.
Labels do not have to be removed from any recyclables. All recyclables need to be rinsed and lid free.
